Immediate Aim

The immediate aim of the committee is to:

  • (a) Establish reliable local links to assist those affected by the disaster;
  • (b) Provide funding through those reliable links to diminish the impact of the disaster on the victims by providing:
    • clothing
    • food
    • accomodation
    • replacement of basic household items and personal effects and
    • medical aid
  • (c) Work closely with established local links to provide effective liaison and coordination of response recovery services to individuals affected by the disaster.

Long Term Aim

The long term aim will be in funding the rehabilitation of the affected areas. The rehabilatation could be a long term process thus fundraising attempts could be maintained for sometime.

The long term aim will be to provide assistance on: Funding for rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation could include infrastructure via:

  • water and sanitation systems
  • schools
  • caring for children who lost their parents
  • clinics and hospitals
  • farming and work tools & equipments and
  • small scale business machines (sewing machines and etc)
